Dayspring children holding Christmas candles

I have continued to being in communication with Adam and he shared this picture of the orphans at Dayspring holding Christmas candles. They enjoyed a wonderful Christmas celebration with food and singing. These children are from of the poorest and most neglected in India who would not otherwise have a home. Dayspring houses, clothes, feeds, and educates the children. Dayspring is not only an orphanage, but also a school as well as a church that Adam pastors. Adam shared his desire to see a new church building built that would be able to hold 1,200 people. He recently went to preach the gospel among the Hindu people where more than 200 strong Hindu people heard the Gospel and several responded to the Gospel in a positive way. Pray that the Lord will work in the hearts of those who both heard and responded that they visit Dayspring for the church serves and commit their lives to wholly follow the Lord who made heaven and earth. Ask the Lord to open their eyes to see and understand their Creator and turn from lifeless idols to the Living and True God. I am still hopeful and praying that I will visit Dayspring when the pastors have completed their training for their graduation ceremony, Lord willing.

Adam has sent over some pictures of the pastors who came together for a Christmas celebration. Dayspring was able to distribute clothing to each one of these pastors who are some of the poorest pastors living and shepherding in the forest areas. When I visit India, Lord willing, I hope to spend time with these men getting to know them, learning their stories, and meeting their congregations.

Please remember these pastors in your prayers. They face opposition and persecution at times for their witness for Jesus. Also please pray that the pastors undergoing the theological training will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and persevere to the end to complete the training.

Dayspring Children's Home Update

Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords,

My last post to this blog was December 3rd, 2020 shortly after our family moved to the Rome, GA area! And here I am posting once again five years later. I doubt there will be any who have followed this blog site as it has been so inactive for so long. But we have not and neither has Dayspring!

I recently spoke with Adam via a video conference where he showed me the very poor condition of their church building. From his report they will not be able to meet within it any longer as it is unsafe. The children's living area is safe, but they could very much use new bathroom facilities. Adam's dream is to see a church building built large enough to hold 1,000 souls. May the Lord grant him the desire of his heart. He reports that many still come to hear the good new of Jesus Christ and many are turning to the Lord. It is always a joy to hear of the saving work of Jesus Christ among the nations.

If you are seeing and reading on this blog for the first time, Dayspring Children's Home is a school in south India housing, educating, and caring for many orphans and widows. Adam also pastors the church there where both the children and neighbors come for worship and where many unbelieving Hindus come to hear the gospel of our Lord. Adam has also helped many pastors from remote areas in all their persecutions and in their biblical training.

It has been my joy to come alongside as much as possible over the last 10+ years to support this work. Most recently that support has been focused on deep theological training of 28 village pastors through Equipping Leaders International. These men are undergoing a rigorous training program equivalent to a seminary education in theological studies. They have around 6 more courses until completion where they will have earned their certificate of completion. While I have not found a way in the Lord's will to visit them yet, God willing I am planning to attend their graduation ceremony in India. If the Lord is willing I will also spend time visiting both these pastors in their villages as well as spending time with the beautiful children of Dayspring.

While I am still working full-time and returning to seminary work in January, by God's grace I will seek to keep this blog updated to begin to make this work of God better known. There is nothing too big or difficult for our Lord Jesus. I would like to see that church building built at Dayspring and those 28 newly trained pastors able to come together regularly to meet and encourage one another in such a place. If this is in the will of God it will most certainly will happen. Amen.

Update on Andhra Pradesh

Greeting to all in the Name of the Lord Jesus,

While I have not posted anything since August of 2020, the work and prayers for Dayspring Children's Home in India continues. Since last year, my family has moved to Rome, GA and have joined a church here called Reformation Rome. This is a Reformed Baptist work just beginning in Floyd county with a heart and passion for South Asia! Pastor David Ogden of the church has done work in India and Nepal and we now have a trip planned for next year to spend time both in N. India and time with Adam and the saints at Dayspring.

I am so very excited about this and do ask for your prayers. We are likely not heading out that way until October 2021, the Lord willing, but have committed as a church to this mission. I was amazed that I began this blog in 2008 for the work in India and have prayed and supported this work for 12 years. Now it seems it may be in the will of God for me to finally be able to go.

I realize due to my lack of attention to this blog that any who had been following it no longer do. Even so, I have kept in communication with Adam over the last year and even had a chance to chat with him today. The needs are great there, especially during the COVID-19 crisis they are facing just as we are. Persecutions have continued and increased over time. Please remember them in prayers as they face many obstacles to walk faithfully with the Lord Jesus.

The main work Adam has requested is for teaching and equipping the many gospel workers and pastors. I am presently praying for 31 workers by name. There are many others in need of our prayers and support. Adam is looking after 150 orphans now along with the care of about 75 widows. Please remember them in your prayers also. Adam has asked me for a sermon that I will write out and a booklet for the pastors that he desires to receive from me and translated into the Telegu language. Please pray for me in this regard. I feel absolutely insufficient for such an important work, yet I trust the Lord to do beyond what I am able.

May the Lord Jesus bless you and keep in you in your walk with the Lord from now until His return or your going to Him.

A worthy work

The ministry and work of Dayspring Children’s Children Home is a good and worthy work of the Lord. My consistency in keeping up this blog, not so much!

I have been in consistent communication with Adam. The children and widows and gospel workers are all doing well. They face many challenges with the COVID-19 lockdown. They have faced issues with rising costs for food and medicine. Most recently, heavy rains in the area have led to some sickness among the gospel workers. The Lord has provided for the medicines need to treat them. The brothers and sisters in Christ remain faithful to the Lord, their faith is strong, and they are always seeking ways to bring the good news of Jesus to those around them. As they have been restricted from travel, Adam reports that the children and believers are spending many hours a day in prayer.

What a great testimony of the things the Lord is doing there. My heart and spirit remain with them. It is still my desire and prayer to find a way to visit them according to the will of God.

Please remember them in prayer.

Your brother,

Geoff
