Update on Andhra Pradesh

Greeting to all in the Name of the Lord Jesus,

While I have not posted anything since August of 2020, the work and prayers for Dayspring Children's Home in India continues. Since last year, my family has moved to Rome, GA and have joined a church here called Reformation Rome. This is a Reformed Baptist work just beginning in Floyd county with a heart and passion for South Asia! Pastor David Ogden of the church has done work in India and Nepal and we now have a trip planned for next year to spend time both in N. India and time with Adam and the saints at Dayspring.

I am so very excited about this and do ask for your prayers. We are likely not heading out that way until October 2021, the Lord willing, but have committed as a church to this mission. I was amazed that I began this blog in 2008 for the work in India and have prayed and supported this work for 12 years. Now it seems it may be in the will of God for me to finally be able to go.

I realize due to my lack of attention to this blog that any who had been following it no longer do. Even so, I have kept in communication with Adam over the last year and even had a chance to chat with him today. The needs are great there, especially during the COVID-19 crisis they are facing just as we are. Persecutions have continued and increased over time. Please remember them in prayers as they face many obstacles to walk faithfully with the Lord Jesus.

The main work Adam has requested is for teaching and equipping the many gospel workers and pastors. I am presently praying for 31 workers by name. There are many others in need of our prayers and support. Adam is looking after 150 orphans now along with the care of about 75 widows. Please remember them in your prayers also. Adam has asked me for a sermon that I will write out and a booklet for the pastors that he desires to receive from me and translated into the Telegu language. Please pray for me in this regard. I feel absolutely insufficient for such an important work, yet I trust the Lord to do beyond what I am able.

May the Lord Jesus bless you and keep in you in your walk with the Lord from now until His return or your going to Him.

Your brother and servant in Christ Jesus

A worthy work

The ministry and work of Dayspring Children’s Children Home is a good and worthy work of the Lord. My consistency in keeping up this blog, not so much!

I have been in consistent communication with Adam. The children and widows and gospel workers are all doing well. They face many challenges with the COVID-19 lockdown. They have faced issues with rising costs for food and medicine. Most recently, heavy rains in the area have led to some sickness among the gospel workers. The Lord has provided for the medicines need to treat them. The brothers and sisters in Christ remain faithful to the Lord, their faith is strong, and they are always seeking ways to bring the good news of Jesus to those around them. As they have been restricted from travel, Adam reports that the children and believers are spending many hours a day in prayer.

What a great testimony of the things the Lord is doing there. My heart and spirit remain with them. It is still my desire and prayer to find a way to visit them according to the will of God.

Please remember them in prayer.

Your brother,

Geoff

Bibles in Telugu

Telugu is the main language spoken by the people and gospel workers in S. India where Dayspring is. There is always a need for Bibles. Both the gospel workers/pastors need them and families need them. For us they are only $8.00 but this is a big amount for these poorer families who struggle just to feed themselves. I am going to be working on getting approx 125 Bibles for needy pastors and families. Please pray that we will be able to accomplish this mission for the people of S. India.

Clean water for the children

Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:13-14

Here we see a new water purification system installed in the orphanage provided clean drinking and cooking water for all there as well as many poor neighbors coming to get clean water. Previously the children and workers were getting sick due to water contamination. What a wonderful way to display the mercy of the Lord to these wonderful children, men, and women. More importantly, Adam and the gospel workers labor tirelessly in their prayers and ministry of the Word of God to the people so that these may obtain that everlasting water that nourishes their souls and endures to everlasting life. They themselves may become fountains of water springing up and refreshing many into everlasting life. Jesus said, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified." John 7: 37-39.

Jesus, the Son of God, has been crucified, buried, and risen from the dead. He is now glorified and has sat down at the right hand of the Father. He has given the Holy Spirit beginning at Pentecost (Acts 2) and gives the Holy Spirit now to all who call upon His name. If you have never called on the Lord, won't you do that today? We all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory and stand in great need of the forgiveness of our sins and the renewing and refreshing from on High. Call upon the name of Jesus who alone is mighty to save and He will wash away your sins with His blood and give the Holy Spirit who renews and regenerates us making us into a whole new creation in Him.

Long lost blog

This blog had its last post in 2016! While I have remained in contact with the work in India, I have not updated this page in almost 3 years. :( I will be working on making that change both this blog as well as to one or both of the others I have used, the Lord willing!
