Graduation in Near!

It is with great joy that I am able to report that the pastors are nearing the completion of their theological training. This training has been ongoing since 2022 and the 30 men are set to graduate this July.

The area where these men live is largely Hindu with a very small population of Christians. It is a place in the world where the gospel is much needed. Many of the men being trained are first generation Christians who live in rural areas. They have been without access to theological training and while they all possess great zeal for the Lord, their level of understanding in the great doctrines of Scripture was limited. Rev. Adam made this need known to me many years ago and what a praise to the Lord to see His answer! These men are are growing in their faith and in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus. It is already reported that two new churches have started as a result.

Only five more classes remain for these men to graduate. Please remember this work in your prayers that these men will continue to grow in the Lord being equipped to proclaim the Gospel faithfully and shepherd the souls of those who have been entrusted to their care. I am planning to attend this graduation in July and spend two weeks there. I humbly request your prayers as well.

All glory to God who has raised up such zealous men and provided them with sound reformed theological training to bring His glorious and everlasting Gospel to India.

Dayspring children holding Christmas candles

I have continued to being in communication with Adam and he shared this picture of the orphans at Dayspring holding Christmas candles. They enjoyed a wonderful Christmas celebration with food and singing. These children are from of the poorest and most neglected in India who would not otherwise have a home. Dayspring houses, clothes, feeds, and educates the children. Dayspring is not only an orphanage, but also a school as well as a church that Adam pastors. Adam shared his desire to see a new church building built that would be able to hold 1,200 people. He recently went to preach the gospel among the Hindu people where more than 200 strong Hindu people heard the Gospel and several responded to the Gospel in a positive way. Pray that the Lord will work in the hearts of those who both heard and responded that they visit Dayspring for the church serves and commit their lives to wholly follow the Lord who made heaven and earth. Ask the Lord to open their eyes to see and understand their Creator and turn from lifeless idols to the Living and True God. I am still hopeful and praying that I will visit Dayspring when the pastors have completed their training for their graduation ceremony, Lord willing.

Adam has sent over some pictures of the pastors who came together for a Christmas celebration. Dayspring was able to distribute clothing to each one of these pastors who are some of the poorest pastors living and shepherding in the forest areas. When I visit India, Lord willing, I hope to spend time with these men getting to know them, learning their stories, and meeting their congregations.

Please remember these pastors in your prayers. They face opposition and persecution at times for their witness for Jesus. Also please pray that the pastors undergoing the theological training will grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and persevere to the end to complete the training.

Dayspring Children's Home Update

Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords,

My last post to this blog was December 3rd, 2020 shortly after our family moved to the Rome, GA area! And here I am posting once again five years later. I doubt there will be any who have followed this blog site as it has been so inactive for so long. But we have not and neither has Dayspring!

I recently spoke with Adam via a video conference where he showed me the very poor condition of their church building. From his report they will not be able to meet within it any longer as it is unsafe. The children's living area is safe, but they could very much use new bathroom facilities. Adam's dream is to see a church building built large enough to hold 1,000 souls. May the Lord grant him the desire of his heart. He reports that many still come to hear the good new of Jesus Christ and many are turning to the Lord. It is always a joy to hear of the saving work of Jesus Christ among the nations.

If you are seeing and reading on this blog for the first time, Dayspring Children's Home is a school in south India housing, educating, and caring for many orphans and widows. Adam also pastors the church there where both the children and neighbors come for worship and where many unbelieving Hindus come to hear the gospel of our Lord. Adam has also helped many pastors from remote areas in all their persecutions and in their biblical training.

It has been my joy to come alongside as much as possible over the last 10+ years to support this work. Most recently that support has been focused on deep theological training of 28 village pastors through Equipping Leaders International. These men are undergoing a rigorous training program equivalent to a seminary education in theological studies. They have around 6 more courses until completion where they will have earned their certificate of completion. While I have not found a way in the Lord's will to visit them yet, God willing I am planning to attend their graduation ceremony in India. If the Lord is willing I will also spend time visiting both these pastors in their villages as well as spending time with the beautiful children of Dayspring.

While I am still working full-time and returning to seminary work in January, by God's grace I will seek to keep this blog updated to begin to make this work of God better known. There is nothing too big or difficult for our Lord Jesus. I would like to see that church building built at Dayspring and those 28 newly trained pastors able to come together regularly to meet and encourage one another in such a place. If this is in the will of God it will most certainly will happen. Amen.

Update on Andhra Pradesh

Greeting to all in the Name of the Lord Jesus,

While I have not posted anything since August of 2020, the work and prayers for Dayspring Children's Home in India continues. Since last year, my family has moved to Rome, GA and have joined a church here called Reformation Rome. This is a Reformed Baptist work just beginning in Floyd county with a heart and passion for South Asia! Pastor David Ogden of the church has done work in India and Nepal and we now have a trip planned for next year to spend time both in N. India and time with Adam and the saints at Dayspring.

I am so very excited about this and do ask for your prayers. We are likely not heading out that way until October 2021, the Lord willing, but have committed as a church to this mission. I was amazed that I began this blog in 2008 for the work in India and have prayed and supported this work for 12 years. Now it seems it may be in the will of God for me to finally be able to go.

I realize due to my lack of attention to this blog that any who had been following it no longer do. Even so, I have kept in communication with Adam over the last year and even had a chance to chat with him today. The needs are great there, especially during the COVID-19 crisis they are facing just as we are. Persecutions have continued and increased over time. Please remember them in prayers as they face many obstacles to walk faithfully with the Lord Jesus.

The main work Adam has requested is for teaching and equipping the many gospel workers and pastors. I am presently praying for 31 workers by name. There are many others in need of our prayers and support. Adam is looking after 150 orphans now along with the care of about 75 widows. Please remember them in your prayers also. Adam has asked me for a sermon that I will write out and a booklet for the pastors that he desires to receive from me and translated into the Telegu language. Please pray for me in this regard. I feel absolutely insufficient for such an important work, yet I trust the Lord to do beyond what I am able.

May the Lord Jesus bless you and keep in you in your walk with the Lord from now until His return or your going to Him.

Your brother and servant in Christ Jesus

A worthy work

The ministry and work of Dayspring Children’s Children Home is a good and worthy work of the Lord. My consistency in keeping up this blog, not so much!

I have been in consistent communication with Adam. The children and widows and gospel workers are all doing well. They face many challenges with the COVID-19 lockdown. They have faced issues with rising costs for food and medicine. Most recently, heavy rains in the area have led to some sickness among the gospel workers. The Lord has provided for the medicines need to treat them. The brothers and sisters in Christ remain faithful to the Lord, their faith is strong, and they are always seeking ways to bring the good news of Jesus to those around them. As they have been restricted from travel, Adam reports that the children and believers are spending many hours a day in prayer.

What a great testimony of the things the Lord is doing there. My heart and spirit remain with them. It is still my desire and prayer to find a way to visit them according to the will of God.

Please remember them in prayer.

Your brother,

Geoff

Bibles in Telugu

Telugu is the main language spoken by the people and gospel workers in S. India where Dayspring is. There is always a need for Bibles. Both the gospel workers/pastors need them and families need them. For us they are only $8.00 but this is a big amount for these poorer families who struggle just to feed themselves. I am going to be working on getting approx 125 Bibles for needy pastors and families. Please pray that we will be able to accomplish this mission for the people of S. India.

Clean water for the children

Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:13-14

Here we see a new water purification system installed in the orphanage provided clean drinking and cooking water for all there as well as many poor neighbors coming to get clean water. Previously the children and workers were getting sick due to water contamination. What a wonderful way to display the mercy of the Lord to these wonderful children, men, and women. More importantly, Adam and the gospel workers labor tirelessly in their prayers and ministry of the Word of God to the people so that these may obtain that everlasting water that nourishes their souls and endures to everlasting life. They themselves may become fountains of water springing up and refreshing many into everlasting life. Jesus said, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified." John 7: 37-39.

Jesus, the Son of God, has been crucified, buried, and risen from the dead. He is now glorified and has sat down at the right hand of the Father. He has given the Holy Spirit beginning at Pentecost (Acts 2) and gives the Holy Spirit now to all who call upon His name. If you have never called on the Lord, won't you do that today? We all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory and stand in great need of the forgiveness of our sins and the renewing and refreshing from on High. Call upon the name of Jesus who alone is mighty to save and He will wash away your sins with His blood and give the Holy Spirit who renews and regenerates us making us into a whole new creation in Him.

Long lost blog

This blog had its last post in 2016! While I have remained in contact with the work in India, I have not updated this page in almost 3 years. :( I will be working on making that change both this blog as well as to one or both of the others I have used, the Lord willing!

Updates

Friends,

I know i have not kept this blog updated on the work here. However, I have stayed in contact with Adam via Facebook. I am also in contact with a missionary in the northern part of India as well who is laboring hard in preaching and teaching the Word of God and planting churches. There are several men I know whose hearts have been touched by the needs of India and hunger we see there for the Word of God. We are praying earnestly to be able to go India. It is possible that many could go and we could see a team travel to India next year. Please pray in this regards.

Update

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus. What a long time it has been since I have last updated this blog. I have had some recent updates from Dayspring, and spoke with Adam just today. I am glad to report that he is well. Of course, the needs are always many there. There is still active work with Gospel workers in India.

Obviously by the picture you can tell that the school is filled with beautiful children. I still have not had the opportunity to make a personal visit. If the Lord is willing, I will go. I wanted to share a few general and personal prayer requests that Adam sent me by email:

The Lord has been gracious to us and using us in many ways for the expansion of HIS kingdom. Many new souls accepted Jesus Christ and are baptized recently. We are working very hard in doing Evangelism, doing crusades, praying for sick in hospitals, visiting prisoners, comforting the people who are in distress with many reasons, helping the needy wit in our resources etc. Everything we do is only to bring glory to God. The orphan children are also very useful to us in singing and giving personal testimonies and making friendship with young people to win them for Christ. I thank the Lord for using us for HIS work.

I would like to bring TWO prayer needs to your kind notice for your prayer and consideration.

  •  There is a man by name John V. K. who is 42 years of age. He is married and has two daughters. He is the first born of his parents among 5 sons and one daughter. This man was dedicated for the Lord’s work and he has been doing the Lord’s ministry faithfully and honestly. It is exciting to know hundreds of people are blessed by his ministry and came to Jesus. Though they have a poor leaves hut as prayer hall they are all happy and worshiping the Lord with spirit and truth. His pastor and his entire congregation are very rich & strong in faith though they are very poor in worldly matters. While the ministry is going on smoothly, a terrible and sad thing happened i.e. pastor John Victor is diagnosed dreadful disease cancer in his upper jaw. At once the entire situation is changed as he cannot speak and eat. I took him to the hospital and we all shed tears with heavy heart. Right now he is in Hyderabad cancer hospital undergoing treatment. This is for the last three and half months. He is a poor man and his wife and daughters became helpless to get him good treatment. I request you to pray God for miraculous healing. Please also share with your friends and churches to help him with financial support as he is in big need. Whatever help you extend with your loving hands is greatly appreciated.

  • There is an young man Ravi V. by name age 20 years. He is in Final year of Dental Doctor Education. He is our church member but staying far away for education. He and his parents became strong Christians after their conversion from Hinduism. This young man learnt to sing and became a very good singer and even attracting many doctors and professors of his college through his singing and prayers. He is very humble and gentle. He loves to share the gospel and on every holiday he goes out to various people to proclaim the gospel. On 31st December at evening time we got a terrible news that he was in a road accident. He was riding at the back seat of his friend’s motor bike and a truck hit them. This young man’s waist, hand, skull are broken and the rectum torn at many places. Total 8 different surgeries are done on him. He is struggling terribly with pain. He is in special Intensive care right now. By God’s grace he is out of danger. It may take 6 months to get recover. Till not sure whether he would be normal in all aspects. This family is very poor. The treatment is very expensive and due to this reason they sold away the only small property they have to pay the urgent medical bills.  This amount is not even sufficient even to for half of the expenses. They are struggling very much. Please kindly pray for this young man. Please kindly share this need with your friends and church members and stretch out your loving and generous hands to help this poor victim. Whatever help you do to this man is greatly appreciated.
As you can see, the needs are great and the Lord knows. This blog has contact information directly to Adam if you wish to reach out to him with a word of encouragement or to support. I know he would appreciate very much your prayers and help and a note of love saying you are praying for him and the men listed above. I am certain there are more needs than this.

Yours in Christ,
Geoff

Typhoon hits Andra Pradesh, Near the Children's Home

Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus,

I am praying daily for this ministry and hoping that the Lord Jesus is bringing people to this little blog to learn more about Dayspring and get involved. If that is you, then you are here "for such a time as this."

You may have heard in the news that a Typhoon recently struck the eastern coast of India near the East Godavi area. This is very near where Dayspring Children's Home is located. I have been in email and phone contact with Adam and rejoiced to know that all the children are safe and there has been no damage to the orphanage. Praise the Lord. There is, however, much devastation in the area and many are coming to Dayspring for help.

The government is responding with some food packs and water yet there is still great need. By an act of Providence a recent financial gift through this ministry reached Adam's hands. Even on this very day the rupees are in his hands the funds are being used to help those suffering from lack of food and water where aid is not reaching them. Praise the Lord.

Please remember them in your prayers that provisions will reach the needy and that our Lord Jesus will use Dayspring to bless many more than we can hope or dream for.

Your brother and servant in Jesus,
Geoff

Update from India

Good update from Adam and the work of the Lord there. We are praying that it may please the Lord to send me and another brother or a small team to India to see them face to face. Please pray with us in that regard. Here is the update:

“To be honest the gospel workers that I visit and encourage are doing great work for the Lord my brother, but they are struggling to feed their children in these days of high prices they are also facing much opposition as we do while sharing the gospel I am eagerly waiting for your kind support to share with them the children are doing well my brother they have several needs, but very happily growing strong both physically and spiritually several of them have become strong witnesses for Christ The widows are old aged and I am doing my best to keep them in good health In India it is very hard and most unfortunate to live as a widow in Hindu society. They are utterly humiliated by the society, but Dayspring is always for such people my brother.

I am very happy to tell you that our church members are growing both in number as well as in spirit every Sunday our church is full and several people who comes late are standing outside as the room is very congested. Many more people will come brother as we are working hard reaching unreached groups.

I want to do greater things for the Lord my brother as the Hindus are growing stronger and the new government is for Hindus. The prime minister is strong Hindu man. I want to bring lot of glory to God by doing many things for HIM among these strong opposite people.

Please kindly pray my brother”

-Adam

Reconnected

I have reconnected with Adam and was delighted to learn of the good progress of the ministry over the last several years. Some good friends I know have served in this ministry for some time now while I was taken up in many, many other things these last couple of years. I am thankful to Jesus that while I have been away, He is always present with them to care for them and look out after their needs.

I wrote to Adam and rejoiced with him to reconnect and believe that while I was taken from them for a season it was so that I could return with a greater and more abundant blessing for the care of the many orphans.

May the Lord Jesus be pleased to help in all these things.

Pray for brother Ravi and his family

I have recieved a report from Adam concerning continuing persecution against the Christians in India. The man is a pastor and some young men opposed to Christians came and destroyed their home. This has put this pastor and his family (he has a wife and children) on the street. Adam was able to help the man somewhat. They need our prayers. Please pray the Lord will provide a shelter for him and his family and keep his faith strong.

It has been some time since I have posted an update as to the happenings in India. I have been in regular contact with Adam. My dear friend and missionary to India, Dan, recently visited Dayspring Children's home He was givent he opportunity to preach at the Christmas service. He has reported back to me what a tremendous work is happening at Dayspring. He too desires to begin an orphanage in the area he is in as the need is great.

Please remember Adam in your prayers as many family members and some of the children have been suffering from various illnesses.

May the Lord bless you as you pray and support Dayspring.

Severe Flooding in India

Dear friends,

Those who know of the news happening in India will know that there has been severe flooding in Andhra Pradesh. Many people have been killed and crops have been destroyed. This has created a desperate situation for many people, Christians and Hindus alike. Adam Sandipudi is in a position to help but only lacks the funds to do so.

For $25.00 we can provide a whole family with food, clothing, blankets, and a Bible in their language. Let's set a goal of trying to reach 100 families. Nothing is impossible for God.

Our family has given $50.00 so far. Please pray about how many families you may be able to help during this time. Adam will be taking pictures for me of the supplies, flooding, and famlies being helped. I will post them as soon as I have them.

In Christ,
Geoff
